T-Mobile’s G2, the long awaited successor to the G1, is finally here. This is a pretty big launch for T-Mobile, probably the biggest since the original G1. The G2 is really the first high end HTC device hitting an American GSM network since the Nexus One, so it’s a pretty big deal (the HD2, in its blaze of WM 6.5 glory, doesn’t count). The G2 is basically the European-market HTC Desire Z, except with twice the internal NAND and a stock version of Froyo instead of the Sense UI-infused build running on the Desire. We got ours last night, and we can now bring you some preliminary impressions and benchmarks.
